Park # 26, Harrigan Greens Park 05.19.16

This was our third park of the day.  Cooper was starting to crash by this park so we didn't stay long.  This is a really cool shaded park and it has a tire swing which was popular with Cooper.  There were 5 slides, both types of swings, riding toys, a lot of climbing structures, a nice covered picnic area (no BBQ) and a large open grass area.

Mom's Review:  I like this park.  It's in a nice quiet clean area.  I like the shade tents over the play structure.  I liked the tic tac toe game.  Cooper and I played it a few times.   There is a lot of shaded places to sit and a water fountain, but no bathrooms here.

Coop's Review:  This park had an awesome tire swing.  I've never been on one so this was fun.  I like it better than the regular swings.  I also liked the riding toy that they had.  My mom got on it with me and made it bounce fast.  I didn't like the slides here.  They were small and not very fast.  I would rather climb and jump.

Harrigan Greens Park, Roseville CA

Nice play structure with shade tents.

Cooper loved this climbing thing.

Cooper loved the tire swing.  it was a little bit wobbly.

Two regular swings and two baby swings.  They weren't under the shade tent.

This tic tac toe game was really fun!

The riding toy!

Park # 25, Veteran's Memorial Park North 05.19.16

This was our second park of the day.  This park has so much open space, with a baseball diamond but they were doing lawn work when we got there so we didn't get to do much running and playing.  It had a nice play structure with a really tall slide, a smaller slide on the other side, swings, a huge climbing rock, monkey bars and a bridge.  It also had a smaller uncovered picnic area and bathrooms.

Mom's Review:  This was a smaller park but the structure was nice.  I liked the climbing rock.  It was what Cooper played with most.  It's in a nice open area with walking trails which I loved.  We have a list of parks to revisit with our bikes.  The bathroom was clean.  Not much complaints with this one.

Coop's Review:  I liked the tall twisty slide.  The climbing rock was awesome.  I would run to the top and jump off.  That is my favorite thing to do.  There were lizards everywhere and I had the most fun trying to catch them but they are way too fast.  We explored the walking trail a little and that was really cool.

Veterans Memorial Park North, Roseville CA

This climbing rock was Cooper's favorite thing here.  He would climb up and jump off.  He would also go under it and peek his head out.

Cooper loved this long twisty slide.

Park # 24, Mel Hamel Park 05.19.16

Today was a super busy day.  Cooper and I woke up and wanted to see how many parks we could do in one day.  After four parks we are both home exhausted.  Our first park of the day was  Mel Hamel Park!!  This was a cute little tropical themed park.  The play structure had eight slides, a bridge,  curved monkey bars, hoping stones, an ape to climb on and both types of swings.  It also had a basketball court, a volleyball sand pit and huge open space for running and kicking the soccer ball.

Mom's Review:  I liked this park and it's good for all ages.  It has a really cool tall triple slide and on the other side of the structure was a smaller slide.   There was a lot of open space and the park was clean and well maintained.  There were two covered picnic areas but there was only one picnic table under the cover.   The only thing this park needs is a bathroom and some shade.

Coop's Review:  The triple slide was awesome.  I've never seen a slide like this.  It was really FAST too!!!!!  There was a cool ape that you could climb on but it was slippery and my mom had to help me up to the top.  I saw a totem pole that had a water spout but no water came out.  My mom said something about a drought.  I didn't like the baby slide but I ran up it a few times and jumped off the top.  I love the monkey bars but they were too high and I couldn't reach them without help.

Mel Hamel Park, Roseville CA

Coolest slide we have found at a park, plus it's fast too!!!

Cooper trying to balance.  He was a little wobbly!

This had a water spout on it and it looks like it could be a water toy.  Not sure if it will be on this year with the drought but it is a cool part of the park.

Giant ape at the end of the park!

Some sort of animal tunnel.

The swing was a little low and Cooper wasn't able to pump his legs.

Park # 23, Heather Farms Park 05.13.16

Today was our day off so we had decided to go visit my sister in Antioch.  I had heard about a huge park in Walnut Creek and thought it would be cool to pick up my niece Delilah up from school and head over to Heather Farms Park.  This is seriously the best park I have ever been to.  I loved the bright colors of everything on the playground.  The play structure is HUGE and there is something for kids of every age.  There are so many slides, swings, monkey bars, things to climb everywhere, a super big rock wall and a hill to slide down with a cardboard box.  There is a lake with ducks in it, basketball courts,  tennis courts, volleyball nets, a skate park, BBQ grills and a huge picnic area.  We weren't able to explore this entire area because we ran out of time but we will be coming back to check out the whole park next time.

Mom's Review:  This park is amazing and I'm sad we live over 2 hours from it.  I wish I had been able to take better pictures but the kids were all over the place. There was so much to do here and we could have easily been here for hours.  This park was packed, but everyone was so friendly.  We were able to find parking pretty easily and when Cooper walked up and saw the structure his eyes lit up and he went running straight for the rock wall.   This park did have bathrooms but they were really dirty and gross but other than that I would recommend this park to anyone who is in the area.

Coop's Review:  This park was MASSIVE!!!  We came too late and weren't able to stay long but my mom said she would take us back soon.  I really loved the rock wall.   It was the biggest rock wall I haven't ever seen.  I was climbing all over it and jumping off.  I can't pick one thing that was my favorite because I loved everything here.  The slides were all really tall and went fast.  When we were getting ready to leave I saw a big hill and kids were sliding down on cardboard.  We went over there and went down a few times before having to go home.  SO FUN!!!  This is my number 1 favorite park.

Cooper loves when parks have the fireman poll.  It's one of his favorite things and this park had a lot of them.

It was so hard to try and get a picture of the whole park because of how huge it is.  I tried to get a few different angles but the lighting was not very good this late in the afternoon.

Not sure what this is, but Cooper had a blast climbing up and jumping off of it.

This was just one of the many climbing things at this park.   The colors were so fun and bright.

This park had so many things I've never seen at a park, like this thing.

More climbing and balance toys.

This rock wall was awesome and was one of the favorites with both kids.  Delilah was a little scared at first but she was having a blast towards the end.

Park # 22, Silverado Oaks Park 05.12.16

This was our second park of the day and it was a good one.  We are so lucky to live in an area with so many fun and unique parks.  This park had so many things I've never seen before  including a slide with rollers, two huge twisty climbing walls, a spider web climbing bridge that connected the play areas,  a ton of swings, music toys and so many climbing toys. There is also a huge covered picnic area with so many tables.  We walked around the park and found a basketball court and a baseball field.

Mom's Review:  I enjoyed being at this park.  So many big older trees so there was quite a bit of shade and a lot of places to sit and watch Cooper play.  The play area doesn't have much shade but it's still better than a lot of the newer parks.  The play structure was really fun and I could tell Cooper was having a blast on every part especially the roller slide.  He went down every way he could think of.  This is definitely a park on our explore again list.  Only negative is no bathroom and with how hot it was we were drinking a lot of water.

Coop's Review:  I love love loved the roller slide.  Every park should have one.   My mom didn't like me going down on my belly but it was still fun going down on my bottom.  I liked the spider web net.  I also liked the circle spider climbing toy.  The only thing I was scared to do was the big twisty rock wall.  It was way too tall for me.  Maybe when I am 10 I will try it.

Silverado Oaks Park, Roseville CA

This park had the biggest climbing wall I've ever seen at a park plus a tons of climbing toys, tunnels,  swings and slides!

This was one of Cooper's favorite climbing toys.  It's big but not scary big!!

Everybody should go to this park just so they can try out this weird roller slide.  Cooper couldn't get enough of it and I know we are coming back just to play on it some more!

Cooper loves parks that have climbing toys like this.

This was a fun little net bridge.  Cooper went across it a few times.

This was a cool little play area that had some music toys on it.

Park #21, Summerhill Park 05.12.16

We found this park on accident while we were trying to find another park.  We were already here so we decided to stop take a few pictures and play for 10 minutes.  It was a cute little park  with a smaller play structure, a basketball court, a few picnic tables and benches.   There was also a nice amount of open space but we were not prepared with any toys.  This park also had a little sand play area with 1 riding toy inside of it that Cooper commented on being too big for.

Mom's Review:  When we got to the park they were mowing and doing lawn work so we didn't stay long but from the little bit we were there it seemed like a nice park.  It had a lot of big older trees so  I liked the shade.  I liked the little bike trail around the park and we may come back to this one with Coop's bike.  The play structure was pretty basic with 3 slides, a bridge and a balancing toy.

Coop's Review:  This park wasn't that fun and I wanted to play basketball but my mom forgot the ball so I went down the slide a couple of times but it was slow. I liked the balance toy but that was about it at this one.  I'm glad we didn't stay here long.

Summerhill Park, Roseville CA

It was a smaller play structure but it had 3 decent sized slides.

This was the one riding toy inside of the sand box.  Cooper was way too big for it.

Cooper thought this was funny!

This was the only thing that Cooper liked at this park.

The steps leading up to the slides.

This was one of the bigger slides here and Coop wasn't excited by it!

Park # 20, Cambria Park 05.09.16

This is a great little neighborhood park.  It has two play structures one for the smaller kids and one for the older kids.  Both play structures were handicap accessible which is really neat and something I have never seen at a park.   It has a basketball court,  a volleyball sand pit,  a non covered picnic area and a lot of open space for running and kicking the ball.

Mom's Review:  We brought a picnic and ate before exploring this park.  There wasn't much shade but there were a few trees that provided enough shade for us to sit and eat.  Neither of the playgrounds have any shade.  This park also didn't have  bathrooms.  I did like the playground.  There was a lot of fun climbing toys plus a pretty decent sized rock wall.  It kept Cooper super busy.  The basketball court was a really nice one and we will need to come back with our basketball.

Coop's Review:  I didn't like the small playground at all.  It was so easy and the slides were tiny.  It is a good playground for my baby sister.  The big playground was awesome.  I loved the swinging monkey bars.  I went all the way across like 20 times (actually more like 4).  I liked the balance thing on the side of the park.  The big twirly slide was fun too.  It was a fun park but I was happy just doing the monkey bars.

This was the smaller play structure.  It was cute and had 2 slides connected to it,
and a climbing ladder to get up to the top.

This was the bigger play structure.  It had 2 pretty big slides,  2 sets of monkey bars,
a rock wall and 1 riding motorcycle toy.

The rock wall!!

This was Cooper's favorite part of the park.  He loved the swinging
monkey bars.  He was laughing so hard and kept saying "mom take
my picture!!"

This was one of the two slides at this park.  The other one was taller
and twirled around.  It was hard to get a picture.  Too much sun!!!!

Cooper loves these climbing toys.  Any park we go to he always
runs to these.  In the background you can see the other slide.

This was also one of Cooper's favorite things at this park.  He was
running across these and jumping at the end.
